Dear TPCA Members, As Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, we have received a number of inquiries about disinfection services.
Because TDA does not have a specific license category for disinfection or sanitation services it would not be covered under a TDA license. However, TDA would work any complaints regarding the misuse of a antimicrobial application since they have general purview on pesticide applications in Texas.
Texas Department Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) does have a (sanitarian license) and it appears the sanitarian licenses may be a license for those who perform health inspections or educate regarding sanitation.
Occupations Code 1953 is their law – TDLR’s representative did provide this information. TDLR would be the best source to get clarification from and their information about the Sanitarian page of their website found here.
